Interactive Format:

Thematic presentation, case study analysis, AI application demonstration and small group discussion.

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop a theological understanding of AI: Re-examine the meaning and boundaries of artificial intelligence for preaching and pastoral care from a faith-based perspective.
  • Apply AI in preaching and biblical interpretation: Learn how to use AI to assist with research, exegetical analysis, and sermon development.
  • Build the Church’s digital capacity and AI strategy: Move beyond simply using tools to understanding how the Church can develop AI application frameworks and data governance capabilities.

Description:

The rapid development of artificial intelligence is reshaping how humanity understands the world, communicates messages, and practices faith. This workshop approaches the topic from three dimensions—theological imagination, preaching practice, and digital capacity building—to systematically explore the role and possibilities of AI in pastoral ministry.

Through the integration of three core themes, participants will be guided to reimagine God’s grace and proclamation through faith, apply AI in biblical interpretation and sermon preparation, and ultimately consider how the Church can move from merely using AI to designing AI, developing its own digital capabilities and data sovereignty. This workshop not only provides tool-based learning but also guides participants into theological reflection and practical integration. Through case sharing and interactive discussion, it helps the Church develop ministry models in the digital age that embody both spiritual depth and technological insight.

Description:

“It is not the church that has a mission of salvation to fulfill in the world: it is the mission of the Son and Spirit through the Father that includes the church.” (David J. Bosch)

Church planting begins with God’s mission (Missio Dei) and involves discovering contextualized ways to communicate the Gospel within one’s own city. This workshop goes beyond theological foundations to offer practical, hands-on training.

We will kick off with an interactive “Church Planting 101” online survey, followed by frontline case studies of church plants in Singapore and Melbourne shared by our speakers. Description:

Chinese churches planted around the globe face a pivotal moment of transformation and possibilities. This workshop will engage the rich tapestry of our journey, challenging participants to reflect on the current state of churches while stirring up new imaginations for mission and joining God in what He is already doing in our local contexts.

What kind of story does God want to write? What significance does our Chinese cultural heritage hold in the mission of making disciples of all nations? What narratives are being told in our churches?

What are the biggest triumphs and trials facing the Chinese Church worldwide?

What legacy are we setting in motion? What could the future of the Chinese Church look like?

  • Session 1: Focus on Australia & Canada

We will explore the current landscape of Chinese churches by surveying several geographic regions with high concentrations of diaspora churches — understanding how geographical and cultural contexts influence church identity and mission. Part 1 will identify the critical issues facing Chinese Churches today, including the urgent need for vision renewal and leadership evolution.

  • Session 2: Focus on USA & Europe

We will explore the two areas that will have the greatest impact on the renewal of our churches: (1) What vision has God stirred in our imagination that would compel our churches to make the necessary changes? (2) What leadership issues need to be addressed so that our churches can thrive?
